9/11: A terror that struck everywhere

Terrorism is an unwanted reality in society that leaves many people fearing for their lives on a daily basis. Many countries around the world, including Iraq, are left at the mercy of these terrifying crimes that are committed within the boundaries of their cities. Not only do these acts of violence leave a large number of people either injured or dead, but they leave a lasting imprint on the city or country with scars that could never be healed.

The events of September 11, 2001, left the world speechless when two large commercial aircraft, reprehended by terrorists, flew into the twin towers leaving a destructive path behind. The first plane, flight 11, hit the north tower at 8:45 am with 92 people on board. It struck the tower between the 94th and 98th floors blocking any possible exits for those persons who were trapped above. The smoke was so intolerable and the fire was so hot that numerous amounts of people jumped to their deaths to avoid being burned alive. The second plane, flight 175, hit the south tower at approximately 9:03 am with 65 people aboard. It struck the tower between the 78th and 84th floors, again, completely blocking any exit strategy off for the persons above the targeted area in the building. Fortunately, the floors below the site of impact began evacuating before both towers collapsed. However, many people were still nearby when the south tower began collapsing at 9:50am trapping the not so fortunate people between tons of concrete and rubble. The north tower also collapsed at 10:29 am causing even more chaos with a large number of emergency workers being lost to this tragic event as well. There were over two thousand lives lost to the collapsing of both towers and many families were left broken with loved ones lost forever in the aftermath of this terribly event in history.

Not only were the towers attacked on this destructive day in history, but so was the pentagon which was hit with another commercial aircraft, flight 77, at 9:40 am with 64 people aboard. Upon crashing into the building, 5 hijackers took over the plane 35 minutes into the flight by storming the cock pit and forcing passengers into the rear of the plane. While all the chaos was taking place, some passengers were able to contact loved ones to bid their farewells while relaying information of the hijacking. Along with the 64 passengers aboard the aircraft, 125 other people also perished in the crash. The image to the right shows the destructive aftermath of the crash that left a fire burning for days while firefighters tried to put it out.

Even through these three crashes was a forth plane, flight 93, that was hijacked by terrorists at roughly the same time as the others, with a target of either the white house or state capital building. However, it did not make any of these prescribed targets as a revolt broke out on the plane with passengers fighting and resisting the hijacking. The plane unfortunately was crashed by the hijackers in an attempt to stop the breaching of the cock pit form the angry mob on board. It went down east of Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania unsuccessfully making its target crash.

The events of September 11th 2001 show just how sick terrorists can be to sacrifice their own lives, while killing hundreds along with them, just to bring havoc upon a nation. The violence in our world is accelerating at an alarming rate with suicide bombings taking place in many countries to this day. Innocent civilians are dying on a daily basis as a result of these disgusting crimes and I believe drastic measures must be made. Fighting and war between nations is a deadly reality that doesn't seem to have an easy solution but if Nation's could just co-exist without being so discriminative, biased, and hateful, than more changes and solutions could be made. Our world is becoming a more frightening place by the day and if the right measures or precautions are not taken, another war may soon become a deadly reality. We must fight for what we believe in and make our world a more peaceful place so future generations will not have to go through the terror of violence our generations have witnessed. I believe if the right people step up, a huge difference could become a reality, but until then, our world will just have to get by and survive with the many violent crimes that take place in our world today.

The videos below show the events of the September 11th crash in detail providing us with the harsh realities of what happened on the most devastating day in the year 2001. The first video recalls the events of what happened and gives a short detailed story of what some people went through on that terrifying day. The next video is a tribute to all the lives that were lost on that terrible day and shows just how horrible and sickening terrorism can really be as well as the pain and suffering that many people went through when the world, as they knew it, changed forever.

Fight To The Death

Animal abuse, to me, is one of the top most horrid acts in our world. I don't understand how people can do such cruel things to poor and innocent creatures. What disgusts me the most, is how people take the abuse to the next level and actually enjoy watching dogs fight to the death. The many dog fights including pit bulls and rottweilers that occur illegally around the world, is very nauseating. We must take dramatic actions to stop this vile abuse because it not only kills off poor and innocent creatures, but it also makes the animals more aggressive and likely to attack unexpected people, causing even more havoc within our world. People become afraid to let their children walk the streets because many of these vicious creatures run loose and attack unexpected children to no extent.

The image presented above with the fighting pit bulls shows just how vicious these creatures can get within fights, and how necessary a stop to this frightful and illegal sport must be taken out. Fines and jail time should be given out to anybody responsible for the vicious crime as it not only hurts the animals, but it can lead to unwanted harm on other people within the community.

Even more sickeningly possible is the people who take poor and innocent dogs, tie up their muzzles, and allow other dogs to rip them to pieces. This is to apparently "teach" the other vicious dogs how to kill, and it makes me sick to my stomach. Not only allowing this monstrous act to occur, but actually killing off poor and innocent animals in the process to "boost the confidence" of the other dogs goes way beyond just the simple fining measures of punishment. People who allow this kind of violence should be punished to great extents in jail, so they will maybe learn what actions of theirs caused the innocent death of many animals.

The story of William below is a prime example of how these poor creatures were tied up and sentenced to death. It shows just how cruel people can be in this world allowing such a crime to happen. William was a brave dog that showed us how love could still shine through in the darkest of times when nothing to that extent seemed plausible. We see a dog who was practically tortured to death and it makes many people stop to think about the cruel act of violence that goes on in our world. We must stand up and fight for what is right and to bring justice to the monsters that let this repulsive crime happen.

How can such monsters live in our world?

Our world is a cruel place where unspeakable crimes happen and sickening monstrosities occur. Every day children die of causes that are hard for many of us to comprehend. These causes are what makes our world a place full of so much hatred, death, and fear that drives many people to the brink of insanity. What causes people to do such horrible things? What drives them to even think of hitting a poor and innocent child or jabbing a knife through another living soul? This kind of behavior makes me sick to my stomach and I hope that justice will be served to every foul monster living on this planet.

Child abuse is a growing concern in our world today. Many children live a life that's full of much pain and suffering not being able to be loved like they should be and deserve to be. Every child should have a right not to be abused, not to be cut down, and not to be ignored because every living soul is special and deserves to be loved in some way. Abuse is a horrible crime and the people who commit it should be punished greatly. I don't understand how people can hurt poor and innocent children with no regret whatsoever. Our world is a complicated place where these vial monsters live within our streets. So much abuse goes on in our world and many cases appear in newspapers on a daily basis. Some crimes even go unnoticed and its hard to see such sad eyes within our schools and towns. We have to stand up to this violence in our world and help by making the abused feel loved for at least once in their lifetime. Help them to feel happiness for a change instead of the fear they experience every day. Help them to know that there not alone in this world and that many people are out there waiting to help. The crime of abuse will not be overcome unless we take a stand for what we believe in and help to bring change to our troubling planet.

Kelsey Briggs is a prime example of how deadly child abuse is. Her story touches hearts everywhere and makes people aware of the violence within our world. Her life tragically ended at age 3 but her memories and story will live on forever.

My name is Kelsey, I'm only two.
I'm way too young to know right from wrong, I can barely sing a children's song.
When you hurt me, why can't you see, I don't understand, I'm not even three.
I try to walk: "Can't!"
My little body's black and blue and now you have taken my family too.
I love my daddy and he loves me, Grandma, PaPa, where can you be?
I don't forget, I think of you and when I'm hurt, your love shines through.
It's dark in here, I can't go on.... No! Wait! There's light, an angel's song.
I feel God's hand lift me away, he has the perfect place to play.
I know you hurt, I see your tears, but only God knows why I'm here.
Daddy, I'm okay, my body's new and I will never, ever forget you.
My name was Kelsey.

Is War Justifiable?

Our world today is filled with much hatred, death, and cruelty. We live in a time where war surrounds us and is a part of our life. How long are we going to let the fighting continue? How long are we going to let the lives of our loved ones be taken from this cruel conflict?

This video was taken from youtube
Can this deadly reality in our lives be justified? Is there times when war is the only way? I believe that there are times when surely a war is inevitable but I also believe that if only we try harder to be at peace with the rest of the world then maybe we won't have to make these devastating choices in the first place. Can we make peace without all of our guns and bombs? Surely there could be a way. However, when a nation is under attack, defence strategies may be the only way for survival. Making peace in times like these is extremely difficult as both sides are looking for victory or revenge. So many fights have broken out in our world and hatred between nations has evolved that's its hard for a cease fire to exist.

Are we going to let terrorism and war rule our lives? Are we going to let this take away from our happy lives, let it ruin people, and let it control us? I surely hope not. We need to take a stand and fight for what we believe is right. We shouldn't let our world be run by the ruthless; we have to stand up for ourselves and if war is the only way then so be it. I do hope though that we can find a way around all the fighting, pain, and suffering in our world.

We must find a way to get past our hatred to other nations and work as a team. Our world is dying enough as it is without people wrecking more havoc upon it with nuclear missiles and other deadly devices. War is surely not the only way and is not always justifiable. How can death and terror solve all our problems? Most of the time it just makes matters worse. But there are things worth fighting for out there. Especially freedom; one of the few justifiable excuses seen in my eyes. Things like freedom and the right to vote came to a very deadly price throughout the World Wars. Maybe these problems could have been solved more diplomatically but I'm sure thankful to the many men who lost their lives in a very honourable way and for a cost that was indeed justified making our lives worth living for.
