Is War Justifiable?

Our world today is filled with much hatred, death, and cruelty. We live in a time where war surrounds us and is a part of our life. How long are we going to let the fighting continue? How long are we going to let the lives of our loved ones be taken from this cruel conflict?

Can this deadly reality in our lives be justified? Is there times when war is the only way? I believe that there are times when surely a war is inevitable but I also believe that if only we try harder to be at peace with the rest of the world then maybe we won't have to make these devastating choices in the first place. Can we make peace without all of our guns and bombs? Surely there could be a way. However, when a nation is under attack, defence strategies may be the only way for survival. Making peace in times like these is extremely difficult as both sides are looking for victory or revenge. So many fights have broken out in our world and hatred between nations has evolved that's its hard for a cease fire to exist.

Are we going to let terrorism and war rule our lives? Are we going to let this take away from our happy lives, let it ruin people, and let it control us? I surely hope not. We need to take a stand and fight for what we believe is right. We shouldn't let our world be run by the ruthless; we have to stand up for ourselves and if war is the only way then so be it. I do hope though that we can find a way around all the fighting, pain, and suffering in our world.

We must find a way to get past our hatred to other nations and work as a team. Our world is dying enough as it is without people wrecking more havoc upon it with nuclear missiles and other deadly devices. War is surely not the only way and is not always justifiable. How can death and terror solve all our problems? Most of the time it just makes matters worse. But there are things worth fighting for out there. Especially freedom; one of the few justifiable excuses seen in my eyes. Things like freedom and the right to vote came to a very deadly price throughout the World Wars. Maybe these problems could have been solved more diplomatically but I'm sure thankful to the many men who lost their lives in a very honourable way and for a cost that was indeed justified making our lives worth living for.

  1. This was a great first entry into your blog of war, terrorism and violence. In my opinion it was like an opening paragraph in an essay or speech, as it overlooked the issues of war, terrorism and violence in a broad view, not focusing on exactly one particular issue, but just giving a good introduction to what you're blog is about. It also held some of your views and feelings on the subjects, and asked questions to the readers, which is a very good thing. Good start to you blog!
